Chesham police officer to tackle Hadrian's wall
PCSO Mike Shepherd, who has been at the station for six and a half years, will be setting off on September 12 in a bid to complete the 84mile trek for Cancer Research UK.
"It will probably take me about four months," he joked. "No, I'm aiming to do it in four days."
The PCSO's passion for challenges is what made him decide to tackle the wall.
He said: "I like to do a challenge every year, sometimes for charity and sometimes not. I think it will be a challenge, but it all depends on the weather - if it's awful it will be really bad. But I'm looking forward to it. I love a challenge, it's very rewarding."
PCSO Shepherd has previously conquered challenges such as climbing the largest mountain in Sweden, Kebnekaise, and taking part in the Blackpool marathon.
He said: "You feel so emotional when you complete the challenges. It's such a feel good factor."
PCSO Shepherd has decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK after some of his family members suffered with the disease.
He added: "A few members of my family suffered from cancer but they were able to be treated and recover. I think it's a worth while charity. There's more than 200 types of cancer, so the more cancer they can cure the better."
