4-H club stitches quilt for fair
The Hicks and Hayseeds 4-H Club, based in Hanoverton, got together recently to finish up its silent auction basket for the Columbiana County Fair. The theme of the basket this year is "Winter Wonderland." The centerpiece of the basket is a queen- sized quilt that the club made over the past year. Other items in the basket include jars of soup mix put together by the members, soup mugs, winter-themed kitchen linens, Christmas baking items and miscellaneous snowmen items all packed onto a sled. The basket and many others will be on display in the Junior Fair Building on the fairgrounds. Bids will be taken until Aug. 6. All proceeds from the auction go to help ensure that Columbiana County continues to have a 4-H program.
