După ce timp de şase ani a rupt toate legăturile cu muzica, cu Cargo şi cu România, Kempes se reapucă de cântat. Alături de muzicianul Tavi Iepan, Ovidiu Ioncu, fostul solist al trupei Cargo, a revenit în ţară şi înregistrează la Timişoara cu o formaţie care nu are încă un nume.

„Adevărul": Care au fost motivele pentru care ai părăsit România?

Kempes: Unul dintre motive a fost de natură financiară, dar ceea ce m-a convins definitiv a fost situaţia din trupa Cargo. Am fost foarte dezamăgit de direcţia muzicală abordată în ultimii ani de Cargo şi de fricţiunile interne. Rufele se spală în familie. Dar rufele din Cargo erau foarte murdare. Mi-a fost greu să mă hotărăsc să plec. S-a întâmplat un click. Nu am plecat ca artist. Şase luni nu am vrut să aud de muzică. Am fost extrem de decep­ţionat.

Supărarea a fost chiar aşa de mare încât să dai bir cu fugiţii?

Viaţa mea era trupa. Familia era trupa. Când nu aveam ce fuma, luam chiştoace de jos. După evenimentul nefericit, acel accident de motocicletă, s-a schimbat totul în relaţiile celor din Cargo faţă de mine. La început nu realizam pe ce lume eram. Am fost supărat, apoi am devenit decepţionat. Singurele momente plăcute erau cele de pe scenă. În rest, pentru ei eram o paria.

În cei opt ani nu ai dat niciun semn de viaţă. De ce te-ai izolat?

Trebuia să mă izolez. Mama soacră mi-a trimis un ziar în care m-au făcut troacă de porci. Că nevasta m-a dat afară din casă. Că stau sub poduri... Am văzut ziarul. Am zis că vin să-i împuşc. Nu am şters cu buretele. Repet, nu vorbesc mai mult despre asta pentru că rufele se spală în familie. Dar de ce trebuia să spună despre mine că nu sunt în stare de nimic? Înainte iertam şi uitam. Acum nu mai pot să fac acest lucru.

De ce tocmai Australia?

Australia a fost şi încă este o ţară excelentă din multe puncte de vedere. Pentru mine a fost ca şi când m-am născut a doua oară.  Am luat totul de la capăt, dar cu timpul m-am obişnuit. Am intrat în ritmul australian. Am căutat de lucru. Am găsit de lucru şi m-am apucat de treabă. Puteam să fiu şi măturător, nu aveam probleme.

Aici se ştie că ai lucrat ca zugrav la început...

Da, este adevărat, la început m-am angajat ca zugrav. Acum am propria mea companie de zugrăveli şi renovări.

“Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” is a story about three friends- Imraan (Farhan Akhtar), Kabir (Abhay Doel) and Arjun (Hrithik Roshan). Kabir belongs to a building construction family and is engaged to Natasha (Kalki). Imraan is a writer by profession and Arjun is a financial broker based in London. The trio had planned an adventure trip of each choice to Spain during their collage days. They meet and set off on a road trip to Spain. They visit Costa Brava, Seville and Pamplona. At Costa Brava they meet Laila (Katrina Kaif) who is a diving instructor. Kabir discloses that he had chosen  sea diving as his challenge. Arjun is afraid of water and is assisted by Laila to overcome his fear and explore the world under water. They fall in love. As per Arjun’s Choice, three of them go to Seville for sky diving. Imraan is afraid of heights. He jumps and overcomes his fear. After their skydiving adventures, the three men go to a bar, but get into a fight with a stranger, on whom they tried to pull a prank, and end up in jail. Salman, Imraan’s father, bails them out, and takes them to his home. Salman, in his conversation with Imraan, reveals that he never wanted to have a settled life and never wanted kids, as opposed to Imraan’s mother. Kabir, meanwhile, admits to Arjun and Imraan that he is not ready for marriage, but is reluctant to call off the wedding as it might break Natasha’s heart. The final and the most dangerous adventure is suggested by Imraan at Pamplona. The challenge was taking part in the bull run. This was a run for the life race. They agreed to keep their promises if they return alive.Imraan assured to get his poems published, Arjun vowed to visit Morocco with Laila and Kabir pledged to tell Natasha that he is not prepared for marriage. They learn to overcome their fears, insecurities and get rid of the emotional baggage of their lives.
