Nyssa,this was a 20 year old male about 6'1",white hat and white shoes ect ? From this description may we assume that the victim in this violent felony had a pretty good look at the perp ? Can you please look at the police complaint and tell us a little more ? ie was he black,white or Hispanic ? Doing so would eliminate from suspicion a large number of Flint's population.

Tough crowd here, Nyssa. But they do raise a valid point that the Flint Journal editors don't seem to want to discuss. We can assume the victim knows the perp's color. We can assume the perp knows his of her own color. We can assume the police knows the perp's color. We can assume the reporter has the police report and knows the perp's color.

Why are the Flint Journal readers the only ones who don't know the perp's color? Isn't it a public newspaper's job to report what happens and let the readers decide what they mean? Isn't censorship bad news? Can we get the facts or a reasonable explanation why not, Nyssa?

I think we need to get away from the black and white discussion and just describe the criminals in the paper as they are described in the police report. There are actually at least two problems here: 1) facts given to the reporters by the police that are not reported to the reader because they are censored out, and 2) a huge spike in black-on-black crime in Flint the last few years. Neither one of these problems are helped by ignoring the color of criminals.

We need a newspaper we can trust to tell us what is happening whether it is good or bad. We don't have that now. That's sad.

My hubby has that very same worn-out spot on the back pocket of ALL of his work pants – Dockers Khakis. It drives me nuts because they look almost new otherwise.

My theory is that it’s not so much the wallet being put into the pocket and taken out, but it’s the wallet constantly rubbing on the fabric as he gets in and out of his chair and his car, etc.
