Eight Oklahoma Music Hall Of Fame Inductees Announced

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Eight Oklahomans will be inducted into the state's Music Hall of Fame in November in Muskogee.

The list includes the late Wayman Tisdale and Broken Arrow's Kristin Chenoweth.

Other inductees for the Class of 2011 include the late Jesse Davis, Gene Triplett, Ralph Blane, Nokie Edwards and the late Bob Bogle, both of the Ventures.

The ceremony will be held November 10, 2011 at the Muskogee Civic Center.

"We are thrilled to have such a prestigious group of inductees this year," said Andrea Chancellor, Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Board President. "This slate of nominees serves as a tribute to Oklahomans who are contributing and have enhanced our lives with music, leaving their legacy on the world stage."

Past Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame inductees include Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, Jean Shepard, Ronnie Dunn and David Gates.

2011 Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Inductees

Kristin Chenoweth , adopted at birth in Broken Arrow is a singer and actress. She attended college at the Oklahoma City University where she earned a BFA in musical theatre and a master's in opera performance. After moving from Oklahoma City to New York City her career took off in theater, television, film, and recordings. Many remember her show-stealing, Tony-winning performance in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown and her triumphant star turn when she originated the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked, which earned her a leading actress Tony Award nomination. In 2003, her career carried over to television where she won an Emmy for role in the comedy, Pushing Daises. This fall, Chenoweth will star in the new ABC show, "Good Christian Belles" as Darlene as she continues to stay involved with Broadway. After being featured in the in numerous Disney movies such as "Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure," and "You Again", Chenoweth recently wrapped up a Matt K. Turner film, "Ed Zwick's Family Weekend." Chenoweth's interest in music stays strong as she has released three CDs, with her fourth debuting September 13. In addition to music, movies, and theater, in April of 2009, Chenoweth released her comedic chronicle of her life, "A Little Bit Wicked." Released by Simon & Schuster, it debuted at #12 on the New York Times Hardcover Non Fiction Best Seller List.

Emmy Nominations: Costume Designers « TV Junkies Unite!

While I don’t have the most fashionable wardrobe myself, in my dreams, I get to wear the clothes my favorite characters on TV wear, I am always completely put together and whenever I walk out the door everyone I meet instantly knows who I am by what I’m wearing.  Isn’t that what makes a good costume?  It tells you who the character is or when/where they live or what they do for a living or what their social status is etc?   A costume designer is not just designing a piece of clothing, they are designing a piece of clothing for a very specific person with details that come from living an actual life.  If a character is wearing something spectacular that you don’t believe that character would wear, it can often take you out of the show or the performance.  Likewise, if a spectacular character is wearing something not so spectacular, they can lose a bit of their shine.  Costume designers are often telling whole lives with one piece of clothing or one little detail like a missing button or a specific tie knot.  I’ve often read interviews with actors where they say that once they put their costume on, everything falls into place for them and they feel as though they are
