The Duchess of Kent « Barb Eats London

A girls lunch out is planned and a table for three at the Duchess of Kent is booked. Arriving first, I find our table and quickly order a bottle of Rose, knowing that this will be our drink of choice for the day’s proceedings. Whilst awaiting the arrival of my other two guests I examine the stunning interior of the quaint Duchess of Kent. The beautifully warm and pretty décor includes numerous rustic cushions, lovely wooden tables with mismatched chairs and lounges, and stunning timber flooring. The feeling inside is of country chic, with warm and welcoming tones of light lavender on the walls and along the bar, with beautiful lighting throughout. The girls finally arrive and we are welcomed by our waiter with menus in hand. The ladies order Roman’s handmade burger, with relish, and handcut chips, the entrée serve of the crispy pork belly, with tomato jam and apple salad with a side serve of garden leaves, while I decide to increase my iron intake, and go for the char grilled ribeye steak, with handcut chips, onion rings and roast cherry tomato.

The food arrives just in time for us to order our second bottle of Rose, and try to soak up some of the wine we had already demolished. The beef burger arrives on a wooden board and looks quite impressive, while the pork belly is delicate and decent for an entrée size. The ribeye is also a good size, and is cooked to perfection, with a delicious char grilled flavour. We polish off our food and order another bottle of wine and some much needed water for the table. Eight hours later and I stumble through my front door, vowing to return to the Duchess of Kent to relive the fantastic (booze filled) day.
