On Saturday, Gov. Rick Perry is expected to announce that he's running for president. His bid is predicted to shake up the GOP primary. Maybe so, but voters are fickle. All we know for sure? As long as the Texas Republican stays in the race, he'll tempt journalists into deploying their most colorful descriptors.

Thus the Perry Prize: a new award given to the journalist who renders him most entertainingly in the interval that starts when he enters the race and ends when he withdraws from it or wins the presidency. The rules: the description cannot be offered ironically or purely for the sake of humor -- in other words, neither Wonkette nor "The Daily Show" is eligible. Some samples:

Kevin Bacon to play R.I.P.D. villain : 2011 Movies Trailers News ...

Kevin Bacon is nearing a deal to take on the role of villain in Universal's R.I.P.D. , according to Deadline. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke and stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges . The film is based on the Peter Lenkov comic that centers on a police force comprised of undead officers. Reynolds will play Nick Cruz, a recently slain police officer who joins the force and tries to find his own murderer. Bridges will play Roy, a veteran member of the force. The script was adapted by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi , along with Neil H. Moritz . The film is being developed by Dark Horse Entertainment and is being produced by Mike Richardson, Ryan Reynolds and Jonathon Komack Martin.I am a fan of Bacon and thought he did a good job in X-Men: First Class . He's also played a bad guy in The River Wild and Hollow Man . What are your thoughts on this casting news?
